риза Пресвятой Богородицы (по свидетельству Никифора Каллиста, в царствование греч. императора Льва Великого 457-74 св. братья Галвий и Кандил, путешествия в Палестину на поклонение св. местам, обрели там, в доме одной девицы-еврейки ризу Пресвятой Богородицы, которая со времени успения Богоматери переходила от одной девы к другой; удостоверясь, что это действительно есть риза Пресвятой Богородицы, Галвий и Кандид приобрели её и, по прибытии в Константинополь, сначала хранили в своей домовой церкви; когда о святыне узнали многие по исходившим от неё исцелениям, Галвий и Кандид объявили о ней императору и патриарху Геннадию, после чего в 458 риза Пресвятой Богородицы была положена во храме Божией Матери, построенном на берегу Влахернского залива; с тех пор ежегодно 2 / 15 июля празднуется Положение ризы Пресвятой Богородицы во Влахерне; часть ризы Пресвятой Богородицы хранилась в московском Успенском соборе) — the Robe of the Most Holy Theotokos
